Agra and Delhi

This is my first time visiting India and I can’t wait to see Taj Mahal. We are flying with Etihad and ticket is not expensive  (around 100 e). Flight is less than 3 hours. Our flight path took us over Dubai so we could  see Palm and The World Islands and after that beautiful Iranian mountains.

We had to apply for visa online, and print them. It costs around 50 e. Driver was waiting for us at the airport, transportation company Wiwigo. Car with driver for two days is around 100 e. You really need to have a driver because they don’t respect rules. Delhi to  Agra is 235 km and it takes 2.5 hours. Later in Delhi we took Uber.

Indian families are very housewarming and I’ve heard from people who stayed with them that they treat guests very nice, but we decided to stay at hotel. In Agra we booked Courtyard by Marriott, in Delhi The Metropolitan hotel and spa. Hotels are nice, but not like five stars hotels in the UAE.

Food is mostly vegetarian, I’m so thrilled. So many choices. The best vege burger I had was at hotel in Agra.

Taj Mahal

We went to see the Taj Mahal at noon and it was soo hot. Now I know why the best time to visit is at the sunrise. There isn’t a dress code, but you can’t bring in food and books. They will give you water. Ticket is around 13 e. It is so beautiful and when I first saw Taj it was clear why it is one of the Wonders of the World. Symbol of love and romance.

Delhi I didn’t like. It was too dirty and people were too pushy. I couldn’t wait to go to the airport. Just visit tourist attractions: Red fort, Lotus temple, Gate of India.
